Admissions

The policy and arrangements for admission to the school are set out in the Local Authority's school admissions booklet 'Starting School in Tower Hamlets', which can be accessed on the Tower Hamlets website.

Nursery and Reception

Seven Mills runs a full time nursery from 9:00AM - 3:15PM for all children regardless of their eligibility to part time or full time provision. We are a heavily oversubscribed nursery and reception with long waiting lists. Competition for places is strong and we really recommend visiting the school and getting your application in early. All places are offered without charge.

Applications for September entry to Nursery and Reception are made online. You can apply for a place by clicking on the appropriate links on the Tower Hamlets website.

Priorities for admission:

  • Children looked after by a Local Authority (children in care).
  • Children for whom there is an identified special need - educational, social, emotional, physical or medical.
  • Sisters or brothers of children already attending Seven Mills, provided they live within 1.5 miles of the school.
  • Children who live closest, measured by the shortest walking distance.

If you are not sure you are in our catchment area please click here to view the catchment zones. There is also an interactive address finder tool which you can also use. Remember, you may still get admission into Seven Mills if you are outside the catchment area as several factors are taken into consideration when offering a school place.

If you are unsuccessful in your bid for a place in the EYFS or older classes, you have the right to appeal. Support with appeal forms can be carried out by the school office.

Years 1 to 6

If you have just moved to the area with children of school age, please contact Pupil Services at Tower Hamlets Pupil Admissions Team, 020 7364 5006. All other admissions are coordinated centrally through that office. However, parents/carers can state a preference for where their child is placed.
