We have had a wonderful and busy half term in Reception! Have a look at some of the highlights of our Minibeasts topic. Hunting for minibeasts in McDougall Park. We took our magnifying glasses and writing materials to the park. Which minibeasts do you think we found? After searching the grass, the trees, the bushes and plants we found snails, ants, spiders, flies and wriggly worms! We even had some tiny minibeast visitors to our classroom – just like this hermit crab! … and this African giant land snail. We have been looking after our own snail in Reception too – it isn’t quite this big yet! We loved taking care of our class caterpillars and watching them turn into butterflies. It was sad to let the butterflies go at our butterfly picnic… but they landed on our fingers, arms and even toes before they flew away! Most importantly, we remembered to have lots and lots of fun!
